ModAllergen is Allergen Introduction Powders for Infants.

What does ModAllergen say about their products-

As a pharmacist and allergy mum of 2, Jennifer Sin wanted to help reduce food allergies by promoting Early Allergen Introduction through transforming how parents introduce allergens to their infants. Several research studies (LEAP, EAT, PETIT) have demonstrated that early allergen introduction can help prevent food allergies by training the baby's body to recognise and tolerate these foods which stops allergies before they start. The LEAP study demonstrated that babies who started eating peanuts early and regularly decreased their risk of a peanut allergy. With the findings from the study, health organisations worldwide including Australia recommended Early Allergen Introduction - introducing common allergy causing foods into a baby’s diet as soon as they are ready to start solids.

As a busy mum, Jennifer saw a gap in the market - a product that is safe, convenient and ready to use to help parents introduce allergens into their baby’s diet.

ModAllergen is a pioneering Australian brand specialising in organic, preservative-free powdered foods designed for the safe introduction of common allergens to infants from 4 months onwards.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

ModAllergen Frequently Asked Questions

What is Early Allergen Introduction?
Early Allergen Introduction is feeding your baby common allergy-causing foods as soon as they are ready to eat solids and before they turn 1 years old. This aims to train their body to recognise and tolerate these foods which stop allergies before they start. However, if your baby has a diagnosed food allergy, do NOT feed them that food.

What food allergens does the ModAllergen cover?
ModAllergen covers Wheat, Soy, Shellfish, Peanuts, Tree Nuts, Fish and Eggs. These foods account for 90% of most common food allergies.

What is the manufacturing/production process for the products?
The following research advises that boiled peanuts are much gentler compared to roasted ones (External Link), and hard-boiled eggs are a better starting point for babies than scrambled eggs (External Link). They've used these insights to create products that are safe and convenient to use. They've prepared the allergen according to what the above research shows to be a safe starting point for allergen introduction. To make their powders shelf-stable and ready to use, they put the ingredients through a state-of-the-art drying process. This advanced method removes all moisture while maximizing nutrition retention, ensuring that their products remain fresh and packed with nutrients for the baby's safe introduction to allergens.

How do you prevent cross-contamination during manufacturing/production?
We start by sourcing premium ingredients from trusted suppliers choosing organic and Australian grown wherever possible. Each ingredient is kept sealed and separate until it is ready to be processed. Each day, we only handle one ingredient from beginning to end to ensure there are no accidental mix-ups. We do not start processing anything else until the final product is packed and sealed so that no other unlisted allergens can be present. At the end of the process, all equipment is thoroughly washed and sanitised following a strict protocol before the next batch.

Will my baby have a reaction to ModAllergen Powders?
It is impossible to say no baby will have an allergic reaction. There are many factors involved that contribute to food allergies.
