Charlie's Safe Treat Box stocks treats free of the top 10 food allergens, sourcing their products from local and global manufacturers. Part of their process is placing all treats through a strict checklist to ensure they are safe and delicious.
Charlie’s Safe Treat Box was founded by Sharon Gilbert. Sharon became an “allergy” mum when her son Charlie was diagnosed with multiple life threatening food allergies.
The idea for Charlie’s Safe Treat Box was created in 2014, after an anaphylactic reaction to a treat that Charlie consumed at daycare landed him in hospital. Whilst in hospital, they discovered that hospitals were not well equipped to cater for patients with food allergies, particularly those with multiple food allergies. The food on offer was ridden with the allergens that Charlie was allergic to and the food court provided no safe options. In 2022, this idea became a reality and Charlie's Safe Treat box was finally launched creating treat boxes filled with items all free from the top 10 food allergens for those in the Australian food allergy community.
