We use our My Allergy Cards to live safer & be happier in our daily lives, and we want you to do the same

The My Allergy Card is your custom Visual Allergy Alert to reduce allergic risk situations (ARS) and alleviate allergy anxiety by making others "Allergy Aware" through an easy, everyday digital means.

The App is free to download and use, we just want people with allergies to be empowered and have an effective means to alert others and advocate for their allergies so they can be safer and happier.

The My Allergy Card allows you to communicate your allergies on the go, in an easy-to-read display, ensuring people can be alerted to your allergies and providing you with an extra line of reassurance. This is especially helpful when alerting others before you enter a situation and for them to know what to do in the case of a severe reaction or emergency.

The My Allergy Card allows you to switch between Purple and Blue

You can customise it and update it as you need, to:

  • ⁠Add all your allergies (and update them if they change)
  • Add your Name and a Message
  • Add your Emergency Instructions and Emergency Contact Details
  • Share your Allergy Details through the in-app share button via SMS, Email and more

The App can be used for your allergies, or for your loved ones' allergies.

You can use it anywhere it is needed, such as:

  • When Introducing allergies
  • When Ordering food
  • When in Social Situations (such as at a friend's house)
  • When speaking to Health Care Providers (at the Pharmacy, GP, Dentist, etc)
  • When alerting at School, TAFE or Uni
  • When alerting Child Care or School (if you're a parent, guardian or carer)
  • When alerting at Work (first day of the job!)

HOW DOES IT WORK?

  1. Download the My Allergy Card App from the Apple Store for iOS users or the Google Play Store for Android users.
  2. Create a profile and add your Allergies, add your Emergency Instructions and add your Emergency Contact Details
  3. CARRY your Smartphone with the My Allergy Card installed when going out along with your Allergy Medication
  4. Use the My Allergy Card to SHOW & TELL others to make them Allergy Aware. This includes using the share button to text or email your allergies to others.

The My Allergy Card can be used anywhere it is needed!

PARENTS, GUARDIANS AND CARERS CAN USE IT TOO!

Parents/ Guardians/ Carers can use the My Allergy Card on behalf of a child too, just install it on your device and their device to access it.

IS THERE A COST TO USE THE APP?
The My Allergy Card is completely free to download and use. It is here to support, empower, enhance and advocate for a safer and happier life for those living with allergies in Australia. Read more about our mission here.

CAN ANYONE USE THE MY ALLERGY CARD? WHAT ABOUT THOSE UNDER 18?
The My Allergy Card is free to use with anyone who has allergies. If you're under 18, you can also use the My Allergy Card, you just need your parent, guardian or carer to complete your registration. Please Note: Downloading the App is based on your Account Settings in respective App stores.

WHO CREATED THE MY ALLERGY CARD?
The My Allergy Card is proudly created and provided by Allergy Life Australia, a national non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting Australians with allergies.

WHY IS ALLERGY LIFE AUSTRALIA PROVIDING THE MY ALLERGY CARD FOR THE COMMUNITY?
The My Allergy Card along with Carry, Show & Tell are a part of the Allergy Life Australia My Safe Program. Through this program, Allergy Life Australia creates initiatives and concepts to break down communication barriers, encourage freedom, reduce risks and ensure safer and happier lives for those living with allergies.

HOW WAS THE MY ALLERGY CARD CREATED?
Allergy Life Australia has spent many years testing this concept in the real world, across all types of situations, people, places, conditions and devices. In 2021, the My Allergy Card was developed to be a digital wallet card with a Pass ID and URL ID and provided to the allergy community in Australia for free. Since the My Allergy Card was developed it has been used across Australia by many amazing people in our community. In October 2024, after receiving a lot of wonderful feedback and requests, Allergy Life Australia developed the My Allergy Card to be a Mobile app, that had the same impact and a similar design as the first version but more features and more capabilities- all to ensure people with allergies in Australia have a free, simple and effective way to advocate for their allergies. We use our My Allergy Cards to live safer & be happier in our daily lives, and we want you to do the same.

WHAT IS THE WORDING ON THE MY ALLERGY CARD?
You can customise your My Allergy Card App as you need. Below is the default wording that is fixed on the My Allergy Card:

  • I AM ALLERGIC TO
  • THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING
  • If you do not know the answer to the questions/ requests, please do not guess. If you are unsure, then please say so.

The wording below is set by default in the App and can be updated in Settings:

  • I must avoid anything that contains the above to avoid a serious and severe reaction

CAN I MAKE UPDATES IF MY ALLERGIES CHANGE?
Your My Allergy Card is a digital App, which means you can make updates as you need if your allergies change or emergency instructions change. To make any updates, click Settings (gear icon on bottom right in App) and click 'Update My Allergy Card".

CAN I CHANGE THE COLOUR?
The My Allergy Card comes in Purple and Blue, the two most used and preferred colours from the My Allergy Card digital wallet. To change colours scroll to the bottom in the My Allergy Card main screen and tap the toggle button.

IS MY PHONE COMPATIBLE?
You will require an iOS (Apple iPhone) or Android device running the latest versions to use the My Allergy Card. If are you unsure about your device compatibility, get in touch with us.

I HAVE THE ORIGINAL DIGITAL WALLET CARD, DO I NEED TO CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT IN THE APP?
Yes, you need to create a new account in the App as the My Allergy Card is a new App and we do not transfer your personal details.

I HAVE THE ORIGINAL DIGITAL WALLET CARD, SHOULD I KEEP IT?
The original Digital Wallet My Allergy Card will be phased out by March 2025. You can continue using it until then, however, as the My Allergy Card App is now available you can uninstall the Wallet Card from your Apple Wallet or Google Play and use the App instead.
