Managing and living with allergies can be challenging. Allergy Life Australia has been running monthly support groups since 2021, where Australians with allergies have had open and genuine discussions about various topics related to their life with allergies.
The Allergy Support Groups have shown to be fun, caring, and supportive, and, most of all, have provided an opportunity for people to discuss their allergies in a safe online space.
Some specific feedback we received included the following-
"I have really valued this group, I make sure that I attend every month. I have had the best time, this group is so welcoming and supportive. It is like gold." - Family Allergy Support Group Attendee.
"I was nervous to join the session, but I had a great time. It was like making new friends that just knew me and my life. Just thank you" - Adult Allergy Support Group Attendee.
We have run the support groups with families, children, youth and adults joining, and are now considering running a regular "Children with Allergies Support Group" in 2024.
